Review Of Dosterra By K Esta – Work Of Fiction Presented In A Serialized Manner

For all the bookworms, who somewhat like to peep regularly in my blog, I have brought something different and exciting for you. Weeks ago, I was approached by this wonderful writer, K Esta, to give a little mouthwatering tidbit to his first Sci-Fi serial novel, DOSTERRA. The regular readers must be aware of the fact that I have a kinda soft-spot for fiction writing, so I readily agreed to review the amazing and innovative piece of writing. After all being readers, promoting new talent is the least thing that we can do.

Dosterra

Dosterra

So, this serial novel, Dosterra, is a dystopian Sci-Fi adventure story. The story is being published, in a unique, chapter by chapter manner on the website JukePop Serials. JukePop is one amazing website that enables the readers to delve into their favorite serials without spending a penny. Also, the readers’ comments on each released chapter enable the writer to take necessary action towards improvement whilst they are busy constructing their next piece of writing. This also gives a boost to the literary publications and much needed fame to the author. For this, JukePop serials provide a free sign-up to the readers, which indeed is a plus point. The first chapter is available to read with signing up.

Story Rundown

“Dosterra is a wintry mining planet. With a monopoly on natural resources and transition technology, it is the undisputed leader of the Earth Origin Colonies. But, Lexie has stumbled across something that threatens their dominance. What if their power was built on a lie? On the run, she’s forced to seek the help of Iden, a scientist with the Transition Regulation Centre, though his motives for helping her are unclear.”

Chapter One opens in a quite dramatic manner. Lexie is the main lead of the story. Tem, Lexie’s friends, pays a visit to her residence accompanied by some bad news. Some quite powerful people are looking out for them and as a result, they plan to flee away. By using some strange stolen equipment, they manage to jump back in time, with a hope to change some things and avoid them from getting arrested in the near future.

Lexie, earlier, had somehow got her hands on a top secret document that popped up in the virtual world. The document contradicts what the world already knows about time travel. She makes sure that this document reaches the masses. For the regulators and high authority people, this is no less than a disaster. This is the reason she is being chased down by the people in power.

Things turn quite difficult for Lexie when she discovers that the equipment used in time travel by Tem has been procured from Iden, who happens to be Lexie’s old friend and reason behind her job termination 5 years back. With the events of past unnerving her, they barely escape being caught for the very second time in the past couple of days. Forgetting the past and agreeing to the fact that no other alternative is available to them, Lexie decides to take help from Iden.

My Verdict

Now, from what I have read so far, I am able to gather some good points in favor of the writer that can surely help in increasing the number of sign-ups. Being a die-hard Sci-Fi fan, the author did surprise me with excellent construction of his serialized work of fiction. The characters are nicely fabricated and also the chemistry between them. There are a great deal of over-the-edge terms used in the plot construction that may be beyond everyday understanding of an average reader. However, these terms are quite necessary to build a strong sense of understanding for the reader before delving further into the novel. Apart from the typical terms, the language and style of writing is quite easy for the readers to grasp. The story is quite fast paced and doesn’t make you wait for the really clever stuff to drop. It will essentially generate a sense of curiosity in the reader’s mind as to how the upcoming chapters are penned.

On a final note, Dosterra is a strong debut from the desk of K Esta. There are only 6 chapters published so far, which I think won’t be a tough task to catch up with. You would surely praise me for recommending it to you and will find it difficult to wait for the seventh chapter with sixth publishing ending on surprise note. So, go ahead and sign-up today. Happy Reading!!
